For Patients: Your Stay at Caloundra Private Hospital
Your Stay at Caloundra Private Hospital
Admission Time
If you are having an operation or procedure at our Hospital, your admission time is generally determined by your doctor or the anaesthetist who is looking after you during your operation. This is dependent upon the type of procedure and your current state of health. Every effort is made to consider your personal circumstances such as the distance you may have to travel to and from hospital.
Medications
Please bring any current medications with you to hospital. This includes tablets for blood pressure/diabetes, eye drops, heart pills or any other medication taken on a regular basis. Medications should be brought in their original containers so that, if necessary, staff can tell what medications are being taken and when they are due. Please give all medications to the nurse who admits you.
Accommodation
Caloundra Private Hospital offers a range of accommodation options. Whilst every effort is made to provide patients with private rooms, this may not be possible during times of high occupancy. We ask for your understanding should your preferred accommodation option not be available upon your admission to hospital.
Meals
Caloundra Private Hospital employs dietary and catering staff who specialise in planning and preparing tasty and nutritious meals. Fresh ingredients are incorporated into a wide choice of daily meal plan options. Together, our cooks and dietitian will happily cater for patients who request meals to meet special dietary needs.
Should you have any special dietary requirements, please notify our nursing staff at the time of your admission. We will happily provide special children’s meals and a meal for the accompanying parent (if required) at a nominal cost.
Televisions, Radios and Videos
Radio and television facilities are located at each patient’s bedside. There is a choice of radio, television and a video entertainment channel. A selection of video movies is screened each day.
Telephones
Bedside telephones are provided for patient use. Local calls can be made at no cost, however ISD, STD and calls to mobile phones will be charged to your hospital account. A public telephone is located on the ground floor near Reception.
Certain mobile phones have the potential to interfere with electronic equipment. Please use your mobile phone only in the main foyer of the Hospital and ensure it is turned off in all other Hospital areas.
